Worldwide Clinical Trials is hiring a Sales Development Account Manager to accelerate late-stage business development. This full-time role in Durham, NC, focuses on qualifying inbound interest, driving targeted outbound, and building a healthy pipeline in partnership with Business Development leaders.

Role Summary

As part of the Late Stage Business Development Operations team, the Sales Development Account Manager generates new opportunities, qualifies prospects, and routes high-potential leads for further engagement. The role blends research, territory planning, and multichannel outreach to meet bookings targets while maintaining accurate CRM hygiene across Salesforce and related tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new opportunities via inbound qualification and proactive outbound prospecting.
  • Engage prospects by phone, email, and social to build rapport and initiate conversations.
  • Research accounts, uncover needs, and qualify leads through early sales stages.
  • Schedule meetings and route qualified opportunities to Business Development partners.
  • Collaborate with BD to follow up, align next steps, and co-manage territories.
  • Develop and execute territory plans to drive acquisition and revenue growth.
  • Build and maintain a robust funnel; identify target accounts and key contacts; log activity in CRM tools such as Salesforce and SalesLoft.
  • Support marketing initiatives and events; meet activity targets and contribute to overall sales performance.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years in inside sales or sales development.
  • Proven experience in lead generation, qualification, and appointment setting.
  • Strong communication skills and clear, professional outreach by phone and email.
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organized multitasker with effective prioritization and time management skills.
  • Relationship builder who can uncover pain points and nurture early-stage engagement.
  • Proficient with CRM (Salesforce) and familiar with sales automation and auto-dial tools (e.g., SalesLoft).
  • Tech-savvy with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Industry background in CRO or pharmaceuticals preferred; knowledge of Phase I–IV clinical research is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new business and maintain pipeline momentum.

Compensation And Location
