Woodstock Apothecary is hiring a part-time, contract CMO & WooCommerce eCommerce Store Manager to stabilize its online store, ensure site functionality, and lead core growth initiatives. Role Summary
You will own the functionality and shopability of the WooCommerce storefront, stabilize performance, and implement best practices that positively impact discovery and conversion. Once the site is stable, you will prioritize traffic growth, SMM and SEM, and coordinated sales initiatives across channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Own site functionality, performance, and shopability; ensure reliable browsing, checkout, and mobile experiences.
- Stabilize the e-commerce platform; diagnose and resolve issues affecting product discovery, speed, and conversions.
- Manage and optimize e-commerce platforms (website and mobile app). Oversee product listings, pricing, promotions, and taxonomy/data quality.
- Monitor traffic, sales performance, and customer behavior; convert insights into UX tests and roadmap improvements.
- Implement and restart core acquisition and lifecycle programs, including SMM and SEM, aligned with best practices.
- Collaborate across functions to ensure e-commerce initiatives integrate with merchandising, operations, and service.
- Stay current with e-commerce and UX trends; apply relevant learnings to continually improve the customer journey.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- Proven e-commerce management experience with a track record of site stability and revenue-impacting improvements.
- Expertise in WooCommerce; 4+ years of hands-on experience required.
- Strong retail math and analytics; adept with dashboards, cohort analysis, and funnel metrics.
- Comfort with administrative tasks: data analysis, reporting, and inventory management workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; can translate insights into clear actions for stakeholders and vendors.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a remote environment.
- Strategic problem-solver with practical, hands-on execution skills.
- Familiarity with retail management systems and e-commerce platforms; comfortable evaluating tools and integrations.
- Ability to recruit, train, and manage a small e-commerce team as needs grow.
Compensation & Location
