Role Summary
As an Account Executive for the U.S. Higher Education market, you will engage university leaders, navigate long-cycle sales, and close deals ranging from $20k to $500k+. You will work closely with leadership, represent the brand at industry events, and play a direct role in scaling Virtual Internships’ impact across the Higher Education ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage a robust pipeline, closing $20k–$500k+ opportunities with U.S. universities
- Identify, prospect, and secure partnerships across both well-known and emerging institutions
- Develop and execute strategies to expand market presence over the next three years
- Meet and exceed targets and KPIs; deliver regular progress reports to senior leadership
- Collaborate with Partnerships, Growth Marketing, and Operations in a remote, asynchronous setting
- Attend industry events to expand network and deepen sector expertise; travel as needed (domestic and possibly international)
Ideal Profile
- Successful Account Executive experience in an early-stage startup, ideally in EdTech; comfortable with long-cycle sales
- Fluent with CRMs, budgets, targets, and KPIs; disciplined reporting and goal orientation
- Action-oriented, persistent, and able to represent the brand and mission effectively with partners
- Strong relationship-building skills; thrives in a global, remote, and evolving environment across 25+ countries
- Legally able to work in your home country without sponsorship
- Standout: Track record selling to U.S. universities and familiarity with the U.S. higher education market; experience at a Series A or Series B scaleup
Compensation, Benefits, and Location
- Compensation: $37,620–$75,786 USD (salary range provided by the employer)
- Job Type: Full-time, remote; U.S.-focused (Denver, CO listed)
- Remote-First and Flexible Hours: Work from anywhere with schedule flexibility
- Time Off: 25 days paid annual leave plus bank holidays and 5 sick days; 5 days paid life-event leave and a day off on your birthday
- Annual Flexible Budget: $1,000 for work setup, wellness, or professional development; laptop budget for new joiners (role and location dependent)
