The GWS team collaborates closely with internal operations, business analytics, and IT to align strategy, execution, and reporting.

Role Summary

The Senior Director of Digital Marketing Strategy leads digital planning and execution for individual properties, regional initiatives, and recruiting efforts. Reporting to the SVP of GWS, this role manages digital performance, budgeting, vendor relationships, analytics, and team development. Direct reports include the Digital Marketing Manager, Reputation Manager, and Website Manager, with the opportunity to hire and grow the team as needs evolve. The director serves as the primary bridge between GWS, IT/Business Analytics, Operations Support, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop digital marketing strategies and analyses for properties, regions, and recruiting, including financial estimates, repositioning and lease-up plans, and presentations.
  • Own digital channel performance with clear KPIs; partner with Business Analytics to automate reporting and deliver client-ready dashboards.
  • Lead VG corporate social media strategy and campaign; oversee social content management services and naming proposals with internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain media plan dashboard; manage Transition and Disposition boards in Monday.com to support cross-team alignment.
  • Evaluate and implement tools (e.g., Monday.com, PandaDoc) to improve workflows; identify and test new platforms and programs as appropriate.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, audits, A/B testing, and usage reviews to refine strategy and optimize outcomes based on insights.
  • Assess and manage vendor relationships; negotiate advertising rates and contracts annually to ensure best-in-class partners and ROI.
  • Support annual budgeting with the SVP and Senior Director of Operations; monitor variances and initiate corrective actions to meet financial goals.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing digital team; set goals, clarify roles, run weekly team meetings, and ensure manageable workloads via regular check-ins.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to IT, Business Analytics, and Operations Support on analytics, dashboards, transitions, dispositions, and stabilized sites.
  • Interface with clients and RSMDs on GWS services for RFPs and active engagements; schedule recurring meetings to align on on-site trends and needs.
  • Track vendor and client invoices in coordination with accounting; maintain brand consistency across deliverables and collaborations.

Ideal Profile

  • Proven ability to create functional strategies, set objectives, and support departmental infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of managerial experience leading teams and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft O365 and comfort adopting new tools and systems.
  • Strong project management, prioritization, and multi-tasking across concurrent initiatives.

Compensation And Location

Job type: Full-time. Location: Southfield, MI. Compensation: $75,934–$92,349 USD, commensurate with experience. The role includes occasional in-person meetings in Detroit for collaboration and planning.
