Role Summary

As Principal Product Manager, AI, you will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Viant AI Suite. You’ll lead end‑to‑end product management—from research and discovery to definition, delivery, and iteration—collaborating closely with data science, engineering, design, and customers. Success in this role is measured by clear, AI‑specific KPIs such as lifts in campaign efficiency, predictive model accuracy, and cost savings from automation.

  • Own strategy, roadmap, and execution for AI products within the Viant DSP.
  • Lead product lifecycle from discovery and requirements to launch and iteration.
  • Identify high‑impact AI opportunities across media planning, campaign management, and optimization.
  • Define and prioritize requirements for AI‑powered features and products.
  • Manage cross‑team dependencies and delivery timelines in a complex technical environment.
  • Conduct competitive research on AI/ML advancements in ad tech and programmatic platforms.
  • Report performance with AI‑specific KPIs and champion a customer‑first mindset.

Ideal Profile

  • 7+ years in product management with a record of shipping successful products.
  • 4+ years in online advertising, ideally within DSPs or related ad tech (planning, campaign management, optimization, targeting, modeling, personalization).
  • Strong problem‑solving skills using structured, data‑driven approaches.
  • Working knowledge of generative AI applications and frameworks, and experience with cross‑functional teams (engineering, data science, design).
  • Familiarity with programmatic ecosystems (Ad Networks, Exchanges, RTB, DSPs, SSPs, DMPs, onboarding, identity).
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate AI‑driven outcomes to technical and business audiences.

Compensation And Location

Location: Remote | Job Type: Full‑time. The estimated base salary range for this role is $180,000–$230,000 USD per year, in accordance with California law. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience and education. Viant highlights benefits that include fully paid health insurance, paid parental leave, and unlimited PTO.
