Role Summary
The Web Content Coordinator develops and directs the design and delivery of websites for Outreach units and university initiatives. Responsibilities include producing and overseeing content strategy, layout, concept design, user experience, and information architecture; guiding accessible design; and leading reporting on web data analytics and SEO/GEO/AIO. The coordinator collaborates with leadership, peers, and program managers across campus to align messaging and ensure consistent brand voice and measurable web goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and direct website design and delivery for Outreach units.
- Build web strategy and track goals and performance over time.
- Translate strategy into actionable plans, tactics, and timelines; execute and iterate.
- Produce and optimize web content using proven, technical expertise and best practices.
- Guide accessible design, UX, layout, and information architecture in digital formats.
- Consult with program managers to write and review copy for brand voice, tone, and style.
- Lead and report on web data analytics and SEO/GEO/AIO initiatives for the division.
- Apply university policies, processes, and standards for development of web resources.
- Assist with strategic planning of UM’s integrated internet resources across units.
- Consult, instruct, and guide content contributors; identify training needs and opportunities.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree required; minimum three years of relevant experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree with six years of experience.
- Portfolio of previous projects; resume and cover letter requested with application.
- Experience creating, maintaining, and optimizing digital content portfolios and websites.
- Proficiency with web analytics and optimization (SEO/GEO/AIO); reporting and insights.
- Knowledge of accessible, standards-based design and UX best practices for the web.
- Strong writing and editing skills aligned to brand voice, tone, and style guidelines.
- Ability to collaborate across stakeholders and work independently as projects require.
Compensation And Location
Salary range: $51,605 to $77,397 USD (Grade 7; midpoint $64,501). Location: University, MS. Employment type not specified in the posting. The team values collaborative and independent work, continued professional development, and open communication. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to approximately 10 pounds, close vision, and speaking/hearing; a background check is required.
