Role Summary

Reporting into the communications function, the Communications Manager (with a digital focus) owns day-to-day execution across social, email, web, and visual media. The role balances hands-on content creation with coordination across departments, vendor management, and performance monitoring to inform continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage content creation, scheduling, and monitoring for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube with consistent brand voice.
  • Capture and edit high-quality photos and videos from campus events and everyday moments.
  • Organize, tag, and maintain the visual asset archive (Vidigami) for cross-department use.
  • Maintain and update website and internal portal content for accuracy and usability aligned to priorities.
  • Build, send, and monitor branded email campaigns; manage templates and optimize for engagement.
  • Coordinate digital advertising with vendors (e.g., Google, Meta, Niche), deliver assets, and track results.
  • Create and manage paid social campaigns to extend reach for priority initiatives.
  • Track and report engagement metrics across email, social, and web to guide decisions.
  • Monitor and maintain online presence and listings on key platforms to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Source stories, testimonials, and visuals from students, faculty, and families to represent the community authentically.
  • Maintain the department’s project management and help desk system; triage requests and track progress.
  • Collaborate across teams to gather content, coordinate communications, and ensure accuracy of deliverables.
  • Stay current on digital communications trends, tools, and best practices; propose new engagement opportunities.

Ideal Profile

  • 3–5 years of experience in communications, marketing, or digital media.
  • Proficient photography and videography skills, including shooting, editing, and asset management.
  • Strong writing for digital channels, including social and email marketing.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms and content management systems.
  • Familiarity with social scheduling and analytics tools to plan and measure campaigns.
  • Organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience coordinating with outside vendors is a plus.
  • Interest in or experience with Jewish day schools or mission-driven organizations is a plus.
