Role Summary

As Email Marketing Manager, you will own the end-to-end email lifecycle—from acquisition and onboarding to engagement, retention, and win-back. You will set strategy, manage execution, mentor team members, and collaborate with executive, content, social, paid, and sales stakeholders. Success in this role is measured by subscriber growth, engagement, and revenue impact while maintaining editorial and brand standards across multiple properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the overarching email strategy across multiple newsletters and brands.
  • Drive subscriber acquisition, engagement, retention, and win-back initiatives across the lifecycle.
  • Set KPIs, analyze performance, and optimize based on trends and funnel insights.
  • Align email programs with business objectives, including monetization and brand expansion.
  • Oversee campaign calendars and execution from onboarding flows to promotional sends.
  • Improve segmentation and targeting using A/B testing, behavioral data, and automation.
  • Maintain editorial voice and design standards to protect brand integrity across sends.
  • Coordinate with editorial, social, and sales to deliver integrated, omnichannel campaigns.
  • Mentor and manage team members, providing structure, feedback, and development support.
  • Partner with leadership to translate strategy into measurable programs that scale.

Ideal Profile

  • 4+ years in email, lifecycle, or newsletter marketing with measurable growth results.
  • Track record leading cross-functional initiatives and presenting to stakeholders and executives.
  • Hands-on expertise with platforms like Mailchimp, HubSpot, Marketo, or Sailthru; strong automation and segmentation skills.
  • Strong editorial instincts with copy, narrative flow, and CTA optimization for engagement and conversions.
  • Experience with audience development, sponsorship workflows, community engagement, and monetization strategies.
  • Data-driven mindset; familiarity with Google Analytics or Looker, CDPs, CRMs, and emerging paid platforms (e.g., Reddit).

Compensation, Benefits, And Location

Compensation: $60,000–$85,000 USD, commensurate with experience. This is a remote-first role based in the United States. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US at hire and maintain authorization throughout employment.
