Role Summary
The Partner Manager connects Strava’s product to the influencers, athletes, communities, and events that can grow it. You will build and deepen relationships, introduce new features to high-impact partners, support community-led events, and collaborate with Product, Brand, Marketing, and Communications. Success in this role relies on clear communication, data-driven decision-making, budget stewardship, and an ability to translate community feedback into actionable insights for cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, deepen, and manage relationships with creators, clubs, and event organizers across the US, with emphasis on the West Coast.
- Collaborate with athletes and creators to maximize use of Strava’s products and deliver Community Partnerships OKRs.
- Drive adoption of new features by onboarding high-impact partners and tracking their contribution to growth.
- Measure and report on partnership impact, tying results to broader business trends and company initiatives; iterate based on feedback and data.
- Support planning and delivery of Community Leaders Workshops and other community-led events with cross-functional partners.
- Partner with Product Marketing and Brand to source and activate creators for campaigns, launches, and go-to-market moments.
- Generate and synthesize local insights; regularly report on trends, market activity, and growth opportunities to stakeholders.
- Manage budgets, prioritize high-impact initiatives, and deliver against growth KPIs.
- Identify emerging creators and trends; build relationships by regularly attending local run and ride events.
- Communicate clearly and concisely; relay partner feedback internally and keep teams updated on progress and learnings.
Ideal Profile
- 5+ years in marketing, partnerships, or talent management, ideally within sport, fitness, or lifestyle brands.
- Proven track record driving measurable growth through community and creator partnerships.
- Extensive relationships with creators, clubs, or event organizers in running and/or cycling across the US.
- Experience working cross-functionally and with stakeholders at all levels of management.
- Flexibility to travel regularly to key cities and community hubs, with emphasis on the West Coast.
- Strategic thinker with strong project management skills; delivers complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives on time and within budget.
- Data and analytics fluency; able to track, analyze, and communicate key metrics and business trends.
- Knowledge of established and emerging social platforms and how partners create content there.
- Proficiency with social listening/influencer tools and community platforms (e.g., Eventbrite, Slack, WhatsApp, Heylo).
- Growth mindset, empathy, and a passion for athlete health and wellness.
Compensation And Location
Base salary: $121,250–$128,750 USD (base only; equity and benefits not included). Starting pay depends on skills, experience, work location, and market conditions; ranges may be modified in the future. The role is based in San Francisco, CA, with a flexible hybrid schedule that generally means around half your time on-site—approximately three days per week. Regular travel to key cities and events, particularly on the West Coast, is expected.
