Rakuten International is hiring a full-time Senior Account Executive to accelerate growth for Rakuten Card Linked Offers (RCLON). This client-facing role blends strategic account leadership with performance marketing expertise to drive revenue, deepen partnerships, and deliver measurable results across a high-impact merchant portfolio.

Role Summary

As the Sr. Account Executive for RCLON, you will manage a portfolio of merchant partners that contribute significantly to annual revenue. You will own revenue targets, build senior relationships, and develop data-driven strategies that align merchant objectives with Rakuten’s priorities. Success in this role requires strong negotiation, forecasting, and cross-functional leadership to ensure profitable outcomes across commission and media deals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own revenue targets for card-linked offers; ensure profitability across commission and media deals.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that maximize revenue and align with merchant goals.
  • Cross-sell network opportunities, including new publisher platforms and media assets within accounts.
  • Lead acquisition of new merchant partners through relationship development, strategic pitches, and data-driven proposals.
  • Conduct regular business reviews to track progress, optimize performance, and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Analyze and forecast trends, translating performance data into actionable insights for partners.
  • Build senior relationships across merchants, agencies, and networks to strengthen long-term partnerships.
  • Partner with internal teams (Account Management, Sales Ops, Tech Ops, Marketing, Analytics, and leadership) to deliver seamless execution.
  • Coach Account Managers to refine client strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounting on collections and resolve account-related technical issues promptly.
  • Represent Rakuten Card Linked Offers at industry events and stay current on trends and competitive dynamics.

Ideal Profile

  • Proven success driving revenue and managing high-value merchant relationships in performance or affiliate marketing, card-linked offers, or digital advertising.
  • Expertise in structuring, forecasting, and negotiating deals with a strong grasp of financial and performance metrics.
  • Ability to craft compelling presentations and pitches for complex products and partnerships.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into action.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align client objectives with business priorities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills with senior decision-makers.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment across departments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field; 5–7 years in account management, sales, or business development.

Compensation, Benefits, and Location

Base salary range: USD $91,044–$157,248 annually. Individual compensation varies based on skills, qualifications, experience, business need, and location. The role is eligible for a discretionary bonus and benefits including health, vision, dental insurance, 401(k) matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other company-implemented programs. Employment type: Full-time. Location: Lexington, MA.
