Role Summary
This player-coach position leads paid media strategy while executing hands-on campaigns across Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising. You will optimize budgets for ROAS, CLV, and acquisition, manage agency and vendor relationships, improve automation and reporting, and surface insights for leadership to guide future initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategy and execution across Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising (Search, Shopping, Display/Performance Max), including targeting, budgets, bids, creative assets, and measurement.
- Manage and optimize multi-million-dollar budgets to deliver incremental revenue, strong ROAS, higher CLV, and efficient new customer acquisition.
- Execute campaigns in-platform while collaborating with agencies and vendors to scale impact and meet targets.
- Oversee Google Merchant Center and product feed health to protect visibility and conversion rates.
- Build automation for reporting, alerts, and workflows to improve speed-to-market and reduce manual effort.
- Partner with marketing, analytics, sales, product, and creative teams to align messaging and audience strategies.
- Analyze performance, communicate insights to senior leadership, and guide planning and roadmaps.
- Stay current on platform updates and competitive moves; test new formats, bidding, and targeting approaches.

- Sustained traffic growth and incremental revenue from paid search and shopping programs.
- Improved ROAS, CLV, and acquisition efficiency while scaling high-value segments responsibly.
- Clear alignment with sales, product, and analytics on goals, audiences, and measurement.
- Automated reporting, monitoring, and feed checks that reduce manual work and enable scale.
- A rigorous testing roadmap across ad formats, bidding strategies, and targeting options.
- Effective collaboration with agency and vendor partners to deliver on time and within budget.
Ideal Profile
- 5+ years managing paid media with deep expertise in Google Ads and Microsoft Ads (required).
- Proven ownership of large budgets in ecommerce and/or B2B environments, delivering measurable growth.
- Experience managing agencies and vendors with clear expectations, KPIs, and performance reviews.
- Strong analytical skills; ability to turn complex data into insights and action plans.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with confidence presenting to leadership.
- Experience with Meta, LinkedIn, or programmatic advertising is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred.

- Automation and workflow tools (scripts, rules, schedules, alerts, or third-party platforms)

- Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (advanced functions and data visualization)
- SQL or other query languages (nice to have)
Compensation, Schedule, and Location
Base salary range: $100,000–$125,000 USD, plus a 10% bonus opportunity. Actual pay within the range depends on work location and factors such as skills, experience, and education. This hybrid role is based in Downers Grove, IL, with an onsite requirement of three days per week. Standard hours are 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. This is an office role with typical computer and phone usage.
