Phoenix Counseling Center is hiring a Marketing Coordinator to strengthen brand presence and community engagement across Gaston, Lincoln, and Cleveland counties. This full-time, hybrid role (three days in office, two remote) supports branding, digital channels, website upkeep, community relations, and fundraising communications.

In this cross-functional role, the Marketing Coordinator ensures consistent messaging across platforms, produces mission-driven content, and represents the organization at community events. Partnering with program and development leaders, this role aligns marketing strategies with program needs, advances donor stewardship, and supports campaigns that build awareness and fundraising outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure brand, message, and design are consistent across all channels.
- Develop print and digital materials for programs, events, and community initiatives.
- Establish and maintain brand guidelines for internal teams and external partners.
- Partner with department leaders to plan and execute program-specific marketing strategies.
- Manage and grow social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X) to expand reach and engagement.
- Create original, mission-driven content, including impact stories, donor spotlights, and event highlights.
- Monitor platform analytics and report on growth, engagement, and digital reach.
- Oversee day-to-day website updates to ensure content is current and accurate.
- Collaborate with staff to post news, events, impact stories, and donor recognition pieces.
- Optimize website user experience, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness; track performance to inform improvements.
- Build and sustain relationships with local businesses, nonprofits, media outlets, and civic organizations.
- Coordinate, track, and attend community events to raise awareness of programs and services.
- Represent the organization at outreach activities, fostering goodwill and new partnerships or sponsorships.
- Develop community awareness campaigns and outreach initiatives to enhance visibility.
- Support annual giving campaigns, donor stewardship efforts, and special fundraising events.
- Coordinate marketing components of grant proposals and sponsorship packages.
- Collaborate with development staff to ensure campaigns reach target donor segments.
- Assist with donor communications, including newsletters, thank-you letters, and impact reports.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in nonprofit marketing, fundraising, or communications.
- Proficiency with social platforms, analytics tools, and CMS (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace).
- Strong writing, editing, and public speaking skills; ability to tell mission-driven stories.
- Knowledge of donor engagement and fundraising best practices.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work respectfully with clients, staff, and community partners.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational privacy standards.
- Ability to follow detailed protocols, including medication handling, transportation, and observed drug screenings.
- Professional, client-centered demeanor.
Compensation And Location
Full-time role compensated at $21–$22 per hour (USD). Primary location is Gastonia, NC, with a hybrid schedule of three in-office days and two remote days each week. Travel is required across the Gaston, Lincoln, and Cleveland county catchment area.
