Role Summary
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this role manages and optimizes the Aquarium’s digital footprint across website, email, and social platforms. You will oversee site content, lifecycle email campaigns, and SEO; develop a cohesive content calendar; produce and appear in filmed content; and collaborate with teams across the organization. The Specialist leverages analytics to guide improvements, documents workflows, and supports scalable systems that drive efficiency and inclusive, user-centered experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and update website content; optimize navigation, mobile responsiveness, and accessibility.
- Plan and execute integrated digital campaigns across web and email to support admissions, membership, and programs.
- Monitor campaign and site performance with tools like Google Analytics; report insights and guide conversion improvements.
- Build and manage segmented, automated email campaigns across the lifecycle (acquisition, renewal, and re-engagement).
- Document digital workflows and SOPs for CMS, email, and asset management systems; maintain digital governance.
- Keep key guest-facing pages current with events, availability, and daily operations updates.
- Collaborate with Membership, Education, Guest Services, IT, and partners to align content with programming and priorities.
- Support SEO and paid media initiatives by optimizing metadata, content structure, and landing pages.
- Develop a cohesive, data-driven content calendar and co-create engagement goals to benchmark success.
- Produce and appear in filmed content; capture on-the-ground moments; attend select functions to source content and partnerships.
- Evaluate and manage digital platforms (e.g., CMS, Emma Mail); identify and resolve inefficiencies in spend, processes, and workflows.
- Train staff on content production and processes to broaden contribution and improve output quality.
Ideal Profile
- 2–3+ years of professional experience in digital marketing, including integrated campaigns, web content, and UX optimization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Design, Web Development, or related field; relevant certifications a plus.
- Proficiency with CMS and email platforms (e.g., Emma Mail), digital asset management (e.g., Canto), and analytics (e.g., Google Analytics 4).
- Strong grasp of UX/UI and digital accessibility (ADA) and mobile-first practices; ability to create user flows and wireframes.
- Skilled writer and editor focused on clarity, conversion, and brand alignment across channels.
- Data-driven mindset; able to synthesize insights, run A/B tests, and refine digital experiences based on engagement metrics.
- Organized project manager and communicator; effective collaborator with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Comfortable on camera and able to serve as a visible spokesperson in filmed content when needed.
Compensation, Benefits, And Location
- Salary: USD $46,858–$58,764 annually.
- Job Type: Full-time; FLSA exempt; in-person role based in Newport, OR.
- Reports To: Director of Marketing.
