Oklahoma State University Foundation is hiring a Leadership Annual Giving Officer to grow philanthropic support with a focus on the agricultural community. This full-time role blends traditional agriculture-based fundraising with modern digital outreach to cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts that advance OSU’s priorities.

Within the organization, Pipeline Growth & Readiness (PGR) builds a wide and deep pool of engaged donors across programs and units, helping supporters discover their philanthropic interests and realize their full giving potential.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Pipeline and Growth Readiness, the Leadership Annual Giving Officer will build relationships through in-person and digital channels (video, texting, phone, social media, and virtual visits). The portfolio will include farmers, ranchers, and ag alumni, with an emphasis on gifts of livestock and grain and on identifying new philanthropic leads. The role requires weekly travel throughout Oklahoma and a minimum of 250 substantial contacts with prospects and donors via personal or virtual visits and calls.
Key Responsibilities
- Donor Cultivation and Fundraising (60%): Manage a portfolio of prospects, including farmers, ranchers, and ag alumni; identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects; conduct in-home visits and attend sales and ag-related events; make substantial contacts via in-person and virtual channels.
- Advance gifts of livestock and grain: Engage prospects willing to designate a portion of herd or crop sales in support of OSU programs.
- Donor Stewardship (20%): Create personalized stewardship plans, including virtual farm tours, donor spotlights, and thank-you videos; provide annual recognition for club members; strengthen ties among potential and current donors.
- Program Development and Integration (20%): Build a network of non-alumni sale owners and customers to grow the OSU Cattle and Grain Club; coordinate marketing materials; align outreach with OSU Alumni Association and Ferguson College campaigns; collaborate on handoffs for major and planned gift leads; tailor donor experiences to interests and affiliations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in the agricultural industry; familiarity with livestock and crop sales.
- Experience with gift or sales solicitation preferred; comfort engaging donors across in-person and digital channels.
- Digital marketing and donor/customer engagement experience preferred (video, social, texting, and virtual visits).
- Effective communication: Listens well, engages diverse stakeholders, and manages crucial conversations.
- Execution and initiative: Accountable for results and adept at navigating complex situations and decisions.
- Teamwork and interpersonal skills: Builds trust, collaborates across functions, and coaches others effectively.
- Problem solving and judgment: Uses policies, data, and experience to identify opportunities and implement solutions.

Compensation And Location
- Salary range: USD 44,526–54,205.
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Location: Stillwater, OK, with weekly travel throughout Oklahoma; regional and national travel as needed.
- Work environment: Typical office conditions and on-site engagement at farms, ranches, and sales; frequent in-person and phone interactions.
