Role Summary
Core Responsibilities
- Sell and close programs that achieve sales plans across assigned key accounts.
- Build strategic relationships with buyers and merchandising teams; coordinate with independent rep agencies to support territories.
- Prepare and present seasonal lines (sportswear, outerwear, equipment); manage samples, line showings, and marketing materials for customer meetings.
- Apply vendor portal and internal analytics to forecast buys, drive in-season reorders, and optimize sell-through and margin performance.
- Develop and maintain monthly sales, inventory, and performance reports; share insights with management and category teams to inform assortments and trends.
- Ensure accurate order initiation and tracking; resolve logistics, quality, and service issues in partnership with internal operations, dealer services, and finance.
- Align sales and marketing programs for key accounts; plan in-store support, co-op programs, and floor staff education to accelerate sell-through and ROI capture.
- Manage chargebacks, EDI/vendor requirements, VAS services, and account-specific processes to meet retailer compliance standards.
- Build seasonal and rolling 3-year revenue plans; track lost opportunities and identify growth strategies that align with retailer and brand objectives.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales/Marketing, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years in wholesale sales and merchandising, ideally in active/outdoor apparel; proven success selling sportswear, outerwear, and equipment to key accounts.
- Strong analytical, presentation, and negotiation skills; comfortable addressing objections and leading change across stakeholders.
- Hands-on knowledge of production, inventory planning, dealer services, distribution, and wholesale drivers that influence sell-through.
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools; database software and Adobe experience preferred; adept with intranet/vendor portals for sales and inventory analysis.
- Highly organized self-starter; able to manage multiple projects, collaborate with rep agencies, and work extended hours during preseason selling periods.
- Passion for the outdoor industry; ability to travel approximately 25–30%.
Compensation, Location, And Travel
Location: Rohnert Park, CA | Job Type: Full-time, Remote. The California base pay range is $107,300–$131,050 USD, based on experience related to the required skills. Travel is typically 25–30%.
