The Senior Communications Manager will support Walrus—the company’s decentralized data layer—by driving integrated communications that clarify value, elevate spokespeople, and support key launches. This is a full-time, remote role in the Marketing organization.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Head of Communications, you will shape and execute communications strategies for Walrus. You’ll work cross-functionally with Marketing & Communications, Partnerships, Product, Legal, and Leadership, and collaborate with ecosystem partners to tell compelling stories across channels. The role includes spokesperson development, announcement planning, media engagement, and event support.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute communications strategies aligned with Walrus’s business objectives to strengthen visibility and reputation.
• Partner with ecosystem teams to identify and develop stories that resonate with target audiences.
• Plan and execute announcements with Product and Partner Marketing; ensure consistent messaging and effective media outreach.
• Build the profiles of Walrus spokespersons and manage preparation for media, events, and speaking opportunities.
• Write and edit content (e.g., blog posts, speaking proposals, communications materials) that translates technical capabilities for diverse audiences.
• Support conferences and events, including travel to manage onsite communications; adapt messaging for regional markets.
• Assist with crisis communications as needed and drive execution for strategic initiatives that demonstrate Walrus’s market fit.

Ideal Profile

• 4–7 years in communications; at least 2 years in technology or finance environments.
• Exceptional writing and editing; ability to translate complex technical concepts for general audiences.
• Strong project management, organization, and stakeholder management skills; cross-functional collaborator.
• Experience with media and vendor relationships; speaker prep and materials development.
• Demonstrated success launching products or programs.

Nice To Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or related field.
• Experience in blockchain/crypto/web3 communications; understanding of decentralized systems.
• Comfort working with technical developer communities; knowledge of the Sui ecosystem.
• International communications experience.

Compensation, Benefits, And Location

US base salary range: $150,000–$180,000 USD for full-time. Ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay considers skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Total compensation includes tokens and equity, benefits, and eligibility for annual equity and token refresh programs. The team is remote-first and hiring globally; the posted range applies to US employees.
