Role Summary

As Director of Engineering, Reporting, you will set the technical vision and delivery strategy for reporting across Performance TV. You’ll lead multiple teams spanning analytics pipelines, backend APIs, and reporting UIs, with a mandate to improve reliability, scalability, and data quality. The ideal leader pairs deep data systems expertise with strong product collaboration to translate business needs into robust, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, mentor, and scale engineering teams across data pipelines, backend services, and reporting UIs.
  • Own analytics pipelines: design and evolve ingestion, transformation, and orchestration for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Own backend services: architect and deliver performant, scalable APIs that power reporting and insights.
  • Enable reporting UIs: provide foundations for intuitive, reliable analytics experiences for customers.
  • Set long-term technical strategy for reporting, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Implement best practices for data quality, monitoring, alerting, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with product and analytics leaders to turn business requirements into durable technical designs.
  • Guide architecture decisions and own the roadmap for systems that scale with customer growth.

Ideal Profile

  • 10+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years leading multiple teams.
  • Deep expertise in data pipelines, distributed systems, and analytics/reporting platforms; strong SQL skills.
  • Proven delivery of customer-facing reporting or analytics features at scale.
  • Experience with modern data stack tools (e.g., Spark, Flink, Kafka, Snowflake or similar).
  • Background in API design and backend services supporting analytics workloads.
  • Ability to guide frontend teams building performant reporting UIs (e.g., React and modern web stacks).
  • Strong communication and leadership skills; effective with engineering and executive stakeholders.
  • Bonus: Experience in ad tech, performance marketing, or other high-scale, data-driven environments.

Compensation, Benefits, And Location

Salary range: USD $172,494–$220,617. Role type: Remote (US). Listed location: Austin, TX. MNTN offers a comprehensive benefits package and flexible work policies.
