Role Summary
The Downstream Product Marketing Manager leads marketing for the spine portfolio, focusing on brand awareness, product adoption, and growth. The role develops and executes multi-channel plans, partners closely with Sales, Clinical, Regulatory, and Operations, and measures performance to optimize tactics. This is a fully onsite position (Monday–Friday) in Union City, CA, with up to 30% travel, including some international trips.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute marketing plans and campaigns for spine market segments aligned to company goals
- Develop deep understanding of surgical patient positioning for spine surgery and refine GTM approaches
- Translate voice of customer into compelling messaging, content, and targeted campaigns
- Coordinate cross-functional product launches across Sales, R&D, Clinical, Marketing, and Operations
- Manage program budgets, timelines, and agency partnerships to deliver assets on time and within budget
- Develop value propositions, enablement tools, and collateral that communicate clear reasons to believe
- Represent the organization at industry events, customer visits, and sales training sessions
- Cultivate Key Opinion Leader relationships for speaking engagements, testimonials, and education
- Ensure brand consistency and compliance with FDA online marketing guidelines, GMP, and ISO 13485
- Develop business plans and product positioning; drive ongoing brand awareness initiatives
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 3+ years of medical device marketing experience; BA/BS required, MBA preferred
- Experience marketing to clinicians, OR leaders, supply chain, risk managers, and hospital/ASC executives, especially in Orthopedics, Spine Surgery, or Pressure Injury Prevention
- Proven ability to translate customer insights into messaging, content, and campaigns in a regulated setting
- Strong segmentation, positioning, and marketing plan development and implementation skills
- Digital marketing proficiency; familiarity with marketing automation (e.g., Pardot), Salesforce, social, and sales enablement tools (e.g., Seismic)
- Excellent project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Effective presenter to clinical audiences and executives; capable of operating room observation and protocols adherence
- High integrity and discretion with sensitive information; strong relationship-building orientation
- English fluency in verbal and written communication; ability to travel up to 30%, including some weekends
Compensation And Location
Base salary range is $126,000–$155,000 USD, plus a comprehensive benefits package and potential annual bonus. This is a fully onsite role in Union City, CA (Monday–Friday). Travel is approximately 30% within the United States and internationally, with adherence to hospital protocols and vendor credentialing requirements.
