Role Summary
Reporting into Milliken Floor Covering, the Commercial Account Manager manages current contract accounts and acquires new business in the Seattle market. Success requires building strategic relationships across A&D firms, end users, and dealers; specifying Milliken flooring products; and maintaining a disciplined pipeline to meet or exceed revenue and growth targets. Flexibility to attend priority project meetings and industry events is expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet and exceed assigned revenue and growth goals.
- Develop, plan, and execute sales and marketing strategies for A&D, end‑user, and dealer accounts.
- Maintain account strategies aimed at retention, penetration, and targeted share gains within priority segments.
- Establish, strengthen, and maintain relationships at all levels of A&D accounts.
- Establish, strengthen, and maintain relationships at all levels of end‑user accounts.
- Promote the Milliken brand in the marketplace and support dealer channel strategies to maximize coverage.
- Manage day‑to‑day account activities and customer needs with timely follow‑through.
- Identify winnable projects and maintain a healthy, prioritized pipeline.
- Participate in industry organizations (e.g., IIDA, IFMA) to expand relationships and visibility.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.).
- 3+ years of direct sales experience or A&D background; knowledge of the contract carpet industry preferred.
- Located in Seattle, WA; ability to travel up to 20% within and outside the territory.
- Strong listening, communication, and presentation skills; comfortable with public speaking and scripting presentations.
- Demonstrated success engaging the A&D community and specifying products for complex projects.
- Evidence of strategic relationships with key decision makers; big‑picture orientation with strong prioritization skills.
- Self‑starter comfortable working from a home office with limited supervision; strong execution management.
- Professional presence and interpersonal skills; able to engage technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of the design process and effective use of tools such as social media, PowerPoint, and CRM platforms.
- Ability to lift and move flooring materials up to 40 lbs; collaborative, team‑oriented mindset.
Compensation And Location
Compensation includes a recoverable draw against commission, with an annual draw range of $70,846–$113,354 USD. Exact draw depends on factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. The role is also eligible for a commission‑based incentive program, with potential earnings above the draw based on individual performance and company results. The position is based in Seattle, WA, with travel up to 20% and flexibility to support priority projects and events.
