Microsoft’s Global Marketing Engines & Experiences (GME&E) team is hiring a Copywriter to shape voice, tone, and narrative across commercial marketing. If you excel at translating complex product stories into clear, channel-ready messages for B2B and technical audiences, this role offers the opportunity to influence campaigns end to end.

Role Summary
As Copywriter for GME&E, you will lead messaging across digital, social, and emerging platforms—bringing the brand promise to life through insight-driven storytelling. You’ll collaborate with marketers, designers, strategists, and stakeholders across integrated marketing, product, and brand teams to deliver platform-specific copy for the entire customer journey. The role spans long-form (blogs, landing pages, eBooks) and short-form (social, email) assets, stewardship of voice and tone guidelines, and experimentation with generative AI to enhance ideation and workflows in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead copy development for integrated campaigns across digital, social, and emerging platforms.
- Translate complex product narratives into accessible, engaging copy aligned to audience needs and channels.
- Craft headlines, body copy, CTAs, scripts, and messaging frameworks across the customer journey.
- Maintain and evolve brand voice through playbooks, guidelines, and tone-of-voice documentation.
- Partner with design and creative stakeholders to deliver cohesive, brand-aligned concepts.
- Stay current on trends, technology, and audience behavior to inform innovative creative solutions.
- Support both long-form content (blogs, landing pages, eBooks) and short-form storytelling (social, email).
- Manage multiple workstreams with attention to detail, deadlines, and creative quality.
- Experiment with generative AI and automation tools to streamline ideation and iteration.
Ideal Profile
Required qualifications include:
- 1+ year copywriting or content design experience plus relevant training/education—or equivalent experience.
- Portfolio or writing samples demonstrating copywriting/editorial work.
- 1+ year writing for digital, social, or integrated campaigns.
- 1+ year in presentation and storytelling, including pitching to executive and C‑suite audiences.
- 1+ year copywriting for B2B or technical audiences.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Understanding of commercial audiences and aligning messaging to business outcomes.
- Familiarity with Microsoft products and ecosystem.
- Experience collaborating with creative teams and agencies; agency experience preferred.
Compensation, Location, And Work Setup
- Base pay (U.S., Writing IC3): $100,600–$199,000 per year; San Francisco Bay Area and NYC: $131,400–$215,400 per year.
- Certain roles may be eligible for additional compensation and benefits (see benefits and pay information).
- Primary location: Redmond, WA. The role may also be based in three additional locations; candidates outside these four areas will be relocated to Redmond.
- Flexible work: up to 50% from home.
