Preferred location is Chicago, IL, with flexibility for Austin, MN or Bedminster, NJ. This role blends P&L‑minded channel ownership with shopper‑centric marketing to drive profitable growth. The base salary range is $103,000–$144,500, with comprehensive benefits.

Role Summary

Serve as the general manager for Instacart across assigned brands and categories—setting strategy, executing customer‑level digital marketing plans, and expanding into platforms like DoorDash and Uber Eats. Collaborate with brokers and internal stakeholders to meet volume, share, and profit targets while optimizing investment and promotional levers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own Instacart performance for Snacking & Entertaining, Convenient Meals & Protein, Global Flavors, Bacon, and Value‑Added Meats; achieve sales targets.
  • Build shopper‑centric, omnichannel programs within budget to drive incremental sales and loyalty.
  • Implement and execute digital marketing plans for assigned brands at the customer level.
  • Partner with broker partners and internal sales strategy and brand marketing teams to identify growth opportunities.
  • Research and evaluate emerging platforms; recommend brand‑level investment strategies (e.g., DoorDash, Uber Eats).
  • Set quarterly, six‑month, and annual objectives aligned to volume, share, spending, logistics, and profit goals.
  • Manage purchase order processes and invoice reconciliation for Instacart and other platforms.
  • Negotiate cost offers, price points, and promotional plans to deliver topline results.
  • Build relationships with mid‑level customer stakeholders to advance sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Engage in ongoing learning; participate in local, regional, and national meetings to sharpen selling effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in sales, marketing, or sales strategy roles.
  • Proven budget management experience.
  • Experience managing external agency/vendor partners.
  • Ability to develop marketing plans for defined shopper segments.
  • Strong leadership with prioritization, delegation, and fast decision‑making skills.
  • Persuasive negotiation and influence capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diplomacy and clarity.
  • Demonstrated initiative; self‑directed with strategic risk‑taking experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years in sales, marketing, or sales strategy roles.
  • eCommerce sales experience on Instacart.
  • Knowledge of retailer marketing landscape and digital concepts.
  • Strong analytical and technical aptitude.

Compensation, Benefits, And Location

The base hiring range is $103,000–$144,500 per year. Actual pay depends on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic market location. Flexible location options include Austin, MN and Bedminster, NJ, with Chicago, IL preferred.
