Communications Manager, Health Care For All (Boston, MA)

Role Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Communications: Develop and implement an annual communications plan aligned with fundraising, programmatic, and advocacy priorities; maintain consistent voice and visual identity; capture impact stories and data with program teams.
- Digital and Social: Manage and grow social channels; build and maintain a content calendar; track analytics and optimize for reach and engagement.
- Vendor Management: Serve as primary liaison to the communications consulting firm and other vendors; oversee deliverables, timelines, contracts, and budgets.
- Publications and Reports: Lead production of the annual report and collateral; coordinate storytelling, data, design, and production to ensure professional, mission-aligned materials.
- Email and Newsletters: Oversee weekly newsletter content, editing, distribution, and performance measurement; partner with development on segmented campaigns for donors, partners, and community audiences.
- Website Management: Maintain timely, accurate content; monitor traffic, engagement, and conversions; collaborate across teams to highlight initiatives and impact.
- Press and Media Relations: Coordinate with consultants to manage media relationships, draft releases and advisories, schedule interviews, and prepare talking points for staff and leadership.
- Event Communications: Lead program booklet creation; support speaker outreach and communications; manage invitations, promotional assets, press, social campaigns, and on-site logistics for the annual fundraising event.
Ideal Profile
- 4–6 years in communications, marketing, or public relations with multi-channel management and vendor oversight experience.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills; ability to translate complex topics clearly and accurately.
- Experience with social platforms, email tools, analytics, and CMS; proficiency with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Media relations experience, including building relationships with journalists and coordinating interviews and press materials.
- Detail-oriented project manager with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and uphold quality standards; collaborative and self-directed.
- Health policy or health care experience is highly desirable; commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and HCFA’s mission is essential.
Compensation, Benefits, And Location
Salary range: $70,000–$75,000 USD. Location: Boston, MA. HCFA is an equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive, supportive workplace.
