Role Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Distribution Sales, the Distribution Account Manager drives profitable volume growth through Hach’s U.S. distribution network. You will execute channel strategies, build and coach distributor sales teams, and align closely with direct sales, business units, and marketing to expand market share and improve visibility across the channel.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with leadership, category managers, and key distribution influencers to drive collaboration and sustained sales growth.
- Lead and coach distributor sales teams to meet revenue goals while aligning with cross-functional objectives in a matrixed environment.
- Develop and execute action plans across sales, service, support, and application development to ensure account success.
- Champion distribution strategy with executive leadership, Sales, Business Units, and Marketing for alignment and visibility.
- Apply visual funnel management, action planning, and field engagement to drive standard work and continuous improvement.
- Provide timely insights on channel expansion, forecasts, market trends, and competitive intelligence; manage contracts in line with company policy.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
- 4–6 years of sales experience, preferably in the water industry or industrial markets.
- Proven success working with distribution channels (required).
- Formal training in value-based selling methodologies (e.g., Sandler, Question-Based Selling) is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 50% domestically for partner collaboration, meetings, and in-territory work with sellers.
- Strength in cross-functional alignment, funnel discipline, forecasting, and competitive analysis.
Compensation, Benefits, And Location
Base salary range: $85,000–$100,000 USD per year; role is eligible for incentive pay. Full-time. Location: U.S.-based, with the posting listing Newton, MA; the position can be located anywhere in the United States within a reasonable commuting distance to a major airport. Travel up to 50% domestically. Compensation within the range depends on factors such as experience, skills, geography, and performance. Benefits eligibility applies per company policy.
