Girls on the Run International is hiring a Director of Digital Marketing to lead an integrated, data-informed digital program that powers awareness, engagement, and conversion. This remote role supports a national nonprofit mission while collaborating across marketing, content, and creative teams.

Role Summary
Reporting to the VP of Marketing and Communications, the Director of Digital Marketing will develop and execute a comprehensive digital strategy across paid media, search, website optimization, email marketing, and analytics. The director will manage the Digital Marketing Manager, partner closely with creative and content leads, and translate performance insights into actionable plans that advance organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Build a cohesive digital strategy aligned with brand, fundraising, and recruitment priorities.
- Design multi-channel lead-nurture programs using automation, retargeting, and segmentation.
- Oversee paid campaigns (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn) and manage budgets to maximize ROI.
- Optimize the Google Ad Grant to increase qualified traffic, visibility, and conversions.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and vendors to deliver targeted, on-brand ad creative.
- Define the structure for automated email programs; enhance segmentation, testing, and reporting.
- Establish a cross-channel analytics framework, dashboards, and regular performance readouts.
- Use data to optimize campaigns and inform broader marketing decisions.
- Lead website improvements across UX, accessibility, performance, and conversion paths.
- Direct SEO strategy, including keyword planning, on-page optimization, and content alignment.
- Manage relationships with external developers and digital vendors as needed.
- Coach and support the Digital Marketing Manager; serve as a digital subject matter expert.
Ideal Profile
- 8+ years of digital marketing experience, including leadership responsibility.
- Demonstrated success in lead generation, paid media, SEO, and email marketing.
- Proficient with Google Ads, Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Meta Business Suite, and CRM platforms.
- Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proven project management experience using tools such as Asana.
- Experience developing and mentoring high-performing teams; ability to lead and support others.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field preferred.
- Background in nonprofit, education, or youth development sectors is a plus.
- Experience working remotely and/or within a franchise model is a plus.
Compensation, Benefits & Location
This is a remote, full-time (exempt) role at 40 hours per week with a salary range of $84,000–$88,000 USD, depending on experience. While remote, residency is required in one of the following states: CA, CT, FL, GA, IL, LA, NC, OR, PA, RI, SC, TX, VA, WA, WI, WY. Staff also participate in meaningful in-person connection opportunities throughout the year.
