WGCU, the PBS and NPR service of Florida Gulf Coast University, seeks a Marketing & Promotions Manager to help grow audience engagement across broadcast, digital, on-demand, and in-person channels. This role develops and executes integrated campaigns aligned with editorial and business goals while maintaining consistent brand standards.

WGCU is Southwest Florida’s source for PBS and NPR and a member-supported service of Florida Gulf Coast University. Serving all or part of 12 counties with multiple TV and radio channels plus digital platforms, WGCU delivers national programming and produces relevant local content that informs and engages the region.

Role Summary

The Marketing & Promotions Manager supports daily operations for marketing, communications, and audience development. Working cross-functionally, this role designs multi-channel campaigns, coordinates creative resources, oversees social media, develops marketing materials, and serves as a liaison with PR partners. The manager tracks and reports on campaign performance, supports launches of new radio, TV, and digital products, and ensures messaging aligns with WGCU’s public service mission and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set goals and objectives that support WGCU’s strategic mission and audience growth.
  • Design and execute integrated campaigns across on-air, online, on-demand, and in-person channels.
  • Develop communications for campaigns and special projects in collaboration with editorial and digital teams.
  • Support branding initiatives and long-term brand campaigns with agency or in-house partners.
  • Assist in launching new radio, TV, and digital programs to drive awareness and engagement.
  • Oversee social media content and collaborate with shared creative resources.
  • Develop marketing materials and ensure consistent messaging across print, TV, digital, social, and OOH.
  • Support copywriting for internal stakeholders and external communications.
  • Serve as primary liaison with PR agencies and media institutions for announcements and events.
  • Track and report campaign performance; recommend improvements and best practices.
  • Coordinate timelines and workflows for marketing campaigns and special projects.

Ideal Profile

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a closely related field.
  • Three years of full-time experience related to the job functions.
  • Familiarity with radio/TV production, out-of-home, digital platforms, and social media.
  • Professional experience in marketing, communications, broadcasting, or related field.
  • Experience with audio/multimedia production, project management, graphic design, writing, photography, and print/social design.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or related field.
  • Five years of professional, full-time experience in marketing/communications/broadcasting.
  • Experience in higher education environments.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of marketing principles, promotion, and public relations.
  • Understanding of media production and dissemination across written, verbal, and visual formats.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively; perform under pressure.
  • Initiative, critical thinking, integrity, and commitment to best practices.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn new applications and systems.

Compensation And Location

Full-time role based in Fort Myers, FL. The expected salary range is $30,940–$39,091 USD, commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
