Directive is a performance marketing agency for SaaS and technology companies. The team applies a Customer Generation methodology centered on SQLs and revenue, delivering Paid Media, SEO, Performance Creative, and Video to help clients meet pipeline targets. Directive is remote-first in the United States with the option to work from offices in Irvine, California.

Role Summary

Title: Account Strategist, Paid Media (Remote US) • Location: Detroit, MI (remote-friendly across the US) • Type: Full-time, Remote

Reporting to an Associate Director, the Account Strategist leads a portfolio of paid media accounts for mid-market and enterprise SaaS clients. You will own communication, quarterly planning, budget management, and execution across key platforms, translating performance data into clear strategic recommendations and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a collection of paid media accounts; act as the primary strategic point of contact.
  • Create quarterly strategies aligned to client goals and company SQL targets.
  • Plan, execute, and optimize PPC across Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and LinkedIn Ads, including keyword research, ad copy, and audience targeting to maximize ROI.
  • Manage and optimize budgets across channels; monitor pacing and efficiency rigorously.
  • Develop a deep understanding of client positioning, UVPs, and funnel dynamics; validate lead routing within CRM systems as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors and operational partners; ensure quality, alignment, and continuous improvement in workflows.
  • Collaborate with leadership to achieve internal and client goals; drive referrals and cross-sell opportunities when aligned to objectives.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 3+ years at a performance/digital marketing agency, with direct B2B SaaS/tech experience.
  • Advanced proficiency across paid search and paid social (Google Ads, Facebook Business Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager).
  • Strong command of PPC principles: keyword research, ad copywriting, bid strategies, testing, and optimization frameworks.
  • Analytical rigor with GA/GA4, Excel, and related tools; adept at data storytelling and clear strategic communication to stakeholders and executives.
  • Track record with mid-market or enterprise accounts; organized, quality-focused, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a remote environment (occasional client travel as needed).

What Success Looks Like

  • Own and grow approximately five mid-tier and enterprise accounts with strong retention and renewals.
  • Meet or exceed OKRs related to client growth and goal attainment; identify cross-sell opportunities that align with objectives.
  • Communicate results clearly; make confident, data-backed strategic decisions for each account.

Compensation, Benefits, and Location

Base salary range (US): $70,000–$95,000 USD, with potential bonus eligibility. Actual compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
