Role Summary
The Social Media & Tourism Marketing Manager develops and executes strategies across social, digital, and traditional channels to highlight Lancaster’s events, businesses, and attractions. You will create and manage tourism-focused content, oversee website and app updates, track performance, and support on-site marketing at special events. This role reports to the Bureau Chief of Tourism & Promotions and requires flexibility for periodic evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, produce, and publish multimedia social content (photos, videos, reels) with compelling, on-brand copy.
- Manage and grow Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, and LinkedIn; monitor and respond to comments and messages.
- Capture and edit photo/video assets; assist with print and digital ads, brochures, and promotional materials.
- Execute integrated campaigns for tourism, events, and local businesses; coordinate seasonal and thematic promotions.
- Implement and optimize paid digital advertising to expand reach and engagement.
- Collaborate with local businesses, attractions, cultural organizations, and tourism partners; develop partnerships with state and regional agencies; attend networking events, trade shows, and industry conferences.
- Maintain and update tourism websites, apps, and event listings; integrate social feeds and campaigns; ensure accessibility and brand alignment across platforms.
- Monitor and report on engagement, ROI, visitor statistics, and tourism trends; conduct surveys and audience research; provide monthly performance reports with recommendations.
- Support tourism-related events with on-site marketing, promotions, and content creation; follow safe practices in all duties.
Ideal Profile
- Strong understanding of social media best practices and digital marketing strategy.
- Experience developing campaigns and managing brand identity across channels.
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills with the ability to craft engaging marketing copy.
- Proficiency with design and production tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
- Experience with paid social advertising and digital analytics.
- Knowledge of Lancaster’s tourism landscape, attractions, and community events.
- Ability to use CMS and email marketing tools; understanding of SEO, website analytics, and tourism data analysis.
- Excellent communication and public speaking; able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organization, project management, creative problem solving, and strategic thinking skills.
Compensation And Location
Full-time role based in Lancaster, PA. Salary range: $62,000–$67,000 USD, depending on experience. Requires flexibility for periodic evenings, weekends, and holidays.
