BISSELL Brand Manager – Explore: Lead Cross-Category Innovation
BISSELL is hiring a Brand Manager – Explore to uncover whitespace opportunities, shape early-stage concepts, and inform the enterprise innovation roadmap. This future-focused role sits within the Cross-Category Strategy team and translates insights into actionable briefs that guide development and position the business for long-term growth.
Company Overview
BISSELL is advancing enterprise growth through cross-category exploration and innovation. The Explore function operates beyond traditional category constraints, partnering across teams to evaluate adjacent markets, new solutions, and emerging technologies that can expand the company’s portfolio and value proposition.
Role Summary
The Brand Manager – Explore synthesizes consumer insights, competitive intelligence, AI-assisted ideation, market trends, and internal data to recommend where to play and how to win. You will craft differentiated value propositions and innovation briefs—defining insights, benefits, reasons-to-believe, claims, and demos—that guide development teams and inform pipeline decisions. About 20% of the role supports the Core Consulting team by building scalable self-service tools, training resources, and leading positioning and claims workstreams for priority initiatives.
You’ll engage regularly with senior leadership to influence enterprise strategy and cross-category expansion. Success is measured by the quality and impact of innovation briefs, percentage of proposed projects chartered, adoption of consulting tools and frameworks, and strategic value delivered to early-stage initiatives. The role offers clear growth paths into product marketing leadership, strategic innovation, or broader enterprise positions as scope increases.
Key Responsibilities

- Opportunity Identification: Prioritize opportunities based on impact, feasibility, and strategic fit; build compelling business cases for new ventures and innovation paths.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, sales, and partner teams to ensure cohesive execution of exploration strategies and pre-charter projects.
- Performance Tracking: Establish success criteria; monitor and optimize new category initiatives against goals, adjusting approaches as needed.
- Innovation Leadership: Stay current on industry trends and emerging tech; manage cross-category development models; influence portfolio strategy; serve as marketing lead for pre-GPD innovation projects through charter handoff.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business (MBA preferred but not required).

- Proven cross-functional collaborator who can influence without direct authority and communicate effectively across levels, including senior leadership and external partners.
