Role Summary
The Product Manager will drive roadmap, strategy, and positioning for Apple’s suite of parental controls. Success requires deep understanding of user feedback, competitive trends, and emerging regulatory requirements, as well as technical fluency to engage with product technologies several layers deep. The role also includes partnering on launches, press demos, and momentum activities, and serving as a spokesperson in select briefings and customer meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering and design to define roadmap and strategy.
- Develop knowledgeable, clear communication of product technologies for varied audiences.
- Influence trade-offs that affect schedule, usability, and differentiation.
- Synthesize user feedback, competitive trends, and regulatory needs for families and parental controls.
- Position Apple’s parental controls and craft product messaging to encourage adoption.
- Partner with marketing communications and PR on launches, materials, demos, and briefings.
- Represent the product in press and customer conversations to build advocacy.
Ideal Profile
- 6+ years in product marketing and/or product management; shipped at least one full product lifecycle.
- Experience leading cross-functional work from early research through launch.
- Proven ability to translate complex technology into clear messaging for consumers, media, analysts, and technical audiences.
- Deep understanding of the Families and Parental Controls domain.
- Excellent written and oral communication; strong storytelling and influence.
- Collaborative and consensus-building; effective with high-stakes, ambiguous decisions.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; comfortable moving between technical depth and business strategy.
- Self-starter with creative and critical thinking abilities.
- Press and media spokesperson experience at national or global scale.
- Willingness to travel.
- BS/BA and/or MBA.
Compensation and Location
Location: Cupertino, CA. Base pay range: 172,100 to 305,600 USD. Actual base pay depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
