Role Summary

The Senior Account Executive will originate and close Energy Solutions opportunities—spanning energy efficiency, distributed energy, and Energy-as-a-Service—within assigned California territories. You’ll manage the full sales lifecycle, from market development and prospecting to contract negotiation, working closely with internal technical teams to ensure customer satisfaction. Travel up to 30% is expected.

Key Responsibilities

• Originate, negotiate, and close commercial contracts for Energy Solutions sales.
• Own the customer sales process and build relationships with direct and indirect customers in assigned territories.
• Identify markets, channels, and counterparties to drive profitable growth and portfolio expansion.
• Develop and execute go-to-market strategies aligned with current market conditions.
• Articulate the full scope of Ameresco’s solutions to meet customer energy savings and resilience goals.
• Engage key decision-makers to secure new project opportunities, grow sales volume, and increase market share.
• Monitor account plans, track competitive activity, and report on progress and execution.
• Collaborate with internal technical teams to align proposals with customer needs and ensure satisfaction.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field—or 10+ years marketing complex energy efficiency, renewable, and EaaS solutions in MUSH markets.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to travel up to 30%.
• Deep understanding of energy industry structure, trends, interconnection requirements, and commercial rate tariffs in various states.
• Proven success selling complex offerings to senior executives; strong network across subcontractors and equipment manufacturers.
• Experience negotiating NDAs, MOUs/PSAs, ESPCs, PPAs, and EaaS agreements.
• Financial fluency in ROI, IRR, and NPV analysis; skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong lead generation, account cultivation, presentation, and closing skills; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Compensation, Location, And Employment Details
